The National Maritime Museum
The National Maritime Museum is located in Amsterdam . It exhibits that chronicle the fascinating history of the development of navigation in the Netherlands.
Hallmark of the museum was a copy of the first edition of Maximilian Transilvana creations titled «De Moluccis Insulis», it describes the first journey of Ferdinand Magellan.
Also in the museum you can see the unique paintings, which depict famous naval battles. In addition, you will see portraits of the great Dutch navigators, rare exhibits of weapons, ingenious layouts different ships, old maps and many other items related to the development of marine depths.
Museum is a 15-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Also get to the museum by bus number 22 or 46 and get off at Kadijksplein, not far from the museum.
