Zaans Museum

Museum Zaanse allows to touch the past Zaanse region. The exhibits of the museum are located in a modern building, thus combining the past with the present. You will see a collection of local costumes, furniture, interior elements and much more.

The museum is located in a small cozy village of Zaanse Schans, which is extremely popular among tourists. Here are preserved windmills, houses and workshops where local residents are the same as before, the craft passed down from generation to generation.

The museum also houses an information desk, Zaanse Schans, where you can obtain information on other attractions of this quaint corner of the Netherlands.

Museum Zaanse is ten miles north-west of Amsterdam. You can take a train from Amsterdam Central Station: in the direction of Alkmaar must get off at Koog-Zaandijk. Next, you must transfer to the ferry, which departs every 10 minutes in, Zaanse Schans. Or you can take the bus number 391 from Amsterdam Central Station to the right-Zaanse Schans Zaanse and Museum. The bus leaves every half hour.
